Course Description:
The core of Knowledge is the official and essential training for professional users of Laser and Light treatments in the medical and aesthetics industry. It is a basic legal requirement for all technicians to achieve this certification. This Laser and IPL Core of Knowledge safety training course does not address treatment protocols or provide clinical training for laser treatments,
Essentially, Core of Knowledge covers 20 topics that all laser/light users are expected to know – ranging from fundamentals of laser and light devices, through to risk assessment and the roles of Laser Protection Advisers (LPA) and Supervisors. The Core of Knowledge training is applicable to many treatments from laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, laser skin rejuvenation, laser for vascular, laser for pigmentation treatments and more. The course will provide a solid foundation in the safe and effective use of laser and IPL machines, and educates on how light interacts with skin to produce specific biological effects, and hazards/risks that may occur and how to deal with them.
- The ‘Core of Knowledge’ is a syllabus outlined in the UK Department of Health’s MHRA publication “Guide to the Safe Use of Lasers, Intense Pulsed Light and LED’s in Medical, Dental and Aesthetic Practice”. In the UK it is considered to be the basic theory that all users of these devices should attain. Many local authorities and other regulatory bodies, as well as indemnity insurers, usually require evidence that all users have completed a ‘Core of Knowledge’ course. Dietl University has approved and endorsed the course content by keeping in view Europe, UK and other international standards required. Course is also endorsed by the Centre of CPD Excellence.
- This comprehensive online training has been designed to allow the user to study at their own pace and when ready to complete an online multiple-choice assessment. The course also includes an online “Risk Assessment” exercise and allows users to download supporting material for future reference.
- Candidates who complete the course and pass the online assessment receive a “Aesthetic Laser and IPL Core of Knowledge” certificate from Bodevolution Academy endorsed by Dietl University.
- an aesthetic laser and IPL safety and compliance course is known as the “Core of Knowledge”
